Today we headed away from the ocean and went to Sera Kogen Farm with some friends. The farm changes their flowers seasonally, for fall it is dahlias and mums. In the spring they also have cherry blossoms and tulips, sun flowers in the summer, and a radish festival in November. I decided to dust off the ole DSLR and work on shooting in Manual (again) so below are a few shots from today. As I have a horrible black thumb I love to walk through other people's gardens. The kids weren't sold on it so I had them do a rainbow scavenger hunt to keep them busy. As they ran around yelling ROY G. BIV I took a leisurely stroll through the flowers. We had a picnic lunch supplemented with tasty treats from the cafe, seriously y'all they had these fried mushrooms that were to die for, and then spent the rest of the afternoon letting the kids play in a sandbox. In the cooler afternoon all the frogs came out to play. It was a great day trip and as Sera's site says "Flowers make everyone happy."
