Man I am so behind on our adventures but the main reason is that we have been crazy busy trying to make the most of the fall on the island. In October we tried to hit every fall activity that we could find. So that meant lots of corn mazes, apple cider donuts, picking apples and of course pumpkins (but no pumpkin spice because, GROSS). Since moving to the island we have met some awesome people. One of my favorite people is my friend E. Her husband is in the same school as my Hubs and we met at an class social. Not only is she one of the sweetest people I have met her kids are the same age as ours. Getting ready for Halloween we decided to pile our families into the car and hit a pumpkin farm/ corn maze. The corn maze was great because there was a lot of room between the rows of corn so we could see the kids allowing them to run around to their hearts content. Afterwards we headed over to pick out a pumpkin. Another source of fun and business is the MOPs group I joined. I was a little uncertain at first but it has been a great way to meet ladies, find things to do with kids and the most important part, an adult to talk to. At first the transition to being at home full time was little rough. We just moved to the island and I knew no one and just needed someone to talk to, to share stories and ask if it was normal to have to tell your kid 1000 times a day to quit licking something. So in short, a godsend. Toward the middle of October the Hubs participated in a regatta that was put on by his school. He loves to sail and has sailed quite a bit so he was made skipper of his boat. I thought this was HILARIOUS, Army guy captaining a boat at a Navy school. Turns out everyone in his boat was from a different branch and they kicked butt! Below is a picture of his boat coming in at the end of the race. They did three heats and his boat came in third place. There were many snickers at our table and perhaps a few Go Army, Beat Navy snarks as well. But overall it was a great day. All of these adventures lead up to our next adventure which was a visit from my parents. What kind of trouble do you think we found?
